Pompey Pillar is the largest monolithic column ever erected in Egypt. It is located in the old Serapeum of Alexandria, a temple dedicated to the god Serapis. The Column stands for about 27 meters and it is made of red granite from Aswan similar to Hatshepsut Obelisk in Karnak.
