Start your Luxor day tours with The Valley of the Kings, the most famous archaeological site situated on Luxor's west bank; it was the burial site of the pharaohs from the New Kingdom. In fact, there are 63 tombs in the Valley of the Kings, now even more for some of the very famous Pharaohs of the Eighteenth Dynasty, Nineteenth Dynasty, and Twentieth Dynasty. Among them are Hatshepsut, Thutmose I, Tutankhamun, Ramses II, Seti I, and Tuthmosis III. You can also visit the famous Tutankhamun tomb, where they found his golden mask, sarcophagi, canopic jars, and jewelry. It is possible to visit the Hatshepsut temple, built by the architect Senenmut during the 18th dynasty in Deir El Bahari, which was dedicated to God Amun. This is a sample of ancient Egyptian architecture and tells why it should be a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
